Corn Processing Day at the Woodcrest Community
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Generous Rondout Valley farmers are donating 4,000 pounds of sweet corn to be distributed to food pantries and soup kitchens throughout Ulster County, with help from FAMILY. As part of our ongoing farm-to-food pantry efforts, RVGA (Rondout Valley Growers Association) is seeking volunteers for a corn processing day at the Woodcrest Community

2032 Rte 213, in Rifton on Tuesday, September 22nd.

We need help shucking, processing, and bagging the corn. We’ll be working from 8am–5pm, so come for a few hours or for the day. Please RSVP info@rondoutvalleygrowers.org or call Susan @ 845-657-5701.

Harvest Dinner and Barn Dance on Oct. 3rd
Volunteers make this event happen – we depend on them to pick up food from local restaurants, help set up and decorate a local historic farm site for the event, take tickets, serve food, direct children’s games, and help clean up. As with our Orchard Dinner, volunteers will be well fed and also have the opportunity to swing dance! More info.

Help out at our annual harvest celebration, to be held this year on
October 3rd at Norweigan Wood Farm in Kerhonkson, and you’ll get to
feast and dance for free, as well as take home your own RVGA t-shirt.
Does it get any better than that?
