Volunteer opportunities include transportation for seniors, Friendly Visiting by phone, Volunteers with expertise – marketing, web. administration, and more.
A List of Our Programs:
The Volunteer Assistance Program: Helps aging individuals remain independent. Volunteers are trained and supervised by JFSUC to visit, provide transportation, and other services.
In-home Assessments: Licensed social worker makes home visit to interview elderly and family members to determine ability of individuals to remain independent and provide support and assistance toward this goal.
Home Based Family Support Program: (New) In-home short-term counseling & support for caregivers & elderly care recipients. Follows “Task-Based Model” of intervention.
Information/Referral: Telephone or e-mail referral & resource information provided to callers.
Educational Workshops: Professional presentations on various topics & issues including Interfaith Marriage, Caregiver Concerns, Aging, etc.
Medical Loan Closet: Various medical equipment available for loan to community members.
All services available to all residents of Ulster County.
