Always There
Seeks volunteers for Adult Day Program for frail/elderly clients – assistance in the following activities: grocery shopping for the adult day program, cooking on site, bus monitor, serving lunch, reading to clients, help with art class, play checkers/dominos, bring in a pet, lead chair exercises, accompany clients on field trips, end of day clean up. Alzheimer’s Association
Volunteer at our office and help staff our Helpline, prepare packages of educational information, or assist with data entry, mailings, and other tasks. Volunteers also needed for the walkathon’s planning committee, which raises funds for family support services.
We are looking for people who are interested in getting involved in a great cause, and who have between one and three hours of time per week to donate. Our Ulster County Memory Walk Team Captains recruit team members, hold fundraising events, and help get the word out, while our Ulster County Memory Walk Planning Committee plans the entire walk from soup to nuts. Angel Food East, Inc
Angel Food East, Inc. has expanded its mission to include those living with HIV+/ AIDS as well as those with chronic illnesses. We are working with the Office for the Aging, the Dept. of Social Services, discharge planners at local hospitals and Hudson Valley Community Services, Inc. to support our neighbors in need who may not be eligible for other nutrition programs in our area. Hospice, Inc.
The number of families using Hospice services for end-of-life care continues to increase. With this growth comes the opportunity for more volunteers to support the work of our Hospice team. Patient care volunteers are needed to provide support and companionship to patients and their families, assist with transportation or run errands for patients. We are also seeking veteran volunteers for our Veteran-to-Veteran Program. Other Hospice volunteer opportunities include community outreach and fundraising help for special events, administrative volunteers for office support, and volunteer couriers to make deliveries.
