  1. April-June VOLUNTEER RIVER HERRING MONITORING PROGRAM, join the NYSDEC Hudson River Estuary Program in our efforts to collect information on the spawning runs of the ecologically important river herring.   2. Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York, Inc. Mid-Hudson Region
    Seeks volunteers to administer JA programs in local classes.
    Program is 45 minutes per session for 5 sessions.
    Training provided.

  3. Ulster County Habitat for Humanity seeks a Secretary for the Board of Directors. This is a volunteer position that involves both secretarial and management skills. The Secretary is a member of the Executive Committee as well. The Board meets on the second Tuesday evening of each month and Executive Committee meetings are called when needed.   4. Volunteers needed for the Rondout Valley Growers Association (RVGA) 6th Annual Orchard Dinner and Wine Tasting. The event will be taking place on Saturday, June 27th at the Stone Ridge Orchard. Volunteers are needed for set up, clean up and the serving of the meal. All volunteers will receive a RVGA T-Shirt. The RVGA is a non-profit community organization comprised of local farmers, residents, and businesses that are committed to strengthening the region’s family farms and preserving open space for future generations.   5. 2 or 3 volunteers needed to help us, Lifebridge Sanctuary, clean up the highway for our Adopt a Highway program between Rosendale and High Falls. The road takes 3 hours to complete and we need to complete the work before the grass grows, usually by May 6. Timing is flexible and we will arrange the times when we hear from you.

  6. The Ulster County Crime Victim Assistance Program Crisis Hotline needs volunteers. Our 40 hour training program prepares volunteers to assist victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and other violent crimes. A new training is beginning soon.
