Angel Food East
Angel Food East, Inc. has expanded its mission to include those living with HIV+/ AIDS as well as those with chronic illnesses. We are working with the Office for the Aging, the Dept. of Social Services, discharge planners at local hospitals and Hudson Valley Community Services, Inc. to support our neighbors in need who may not be eligible for other nutrition programs in our area. We are in need of volunteer drivers who are available any weekday from 10:30 – 11:30 to deliver hot meals to our clients. To volunteer contact The Rev. Deacon Susan Bonsteel at 845-331-5575.
Caring Hands Soup Kitchen
The Caring Hands Soup Kitchen at the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church in Mid-Town Kingston is looking for volunteers to help prepare and serve the meals during the week. Ideally, we are looking for teams of two people per day, with different teams to cover the week. Teams would begin working at 10:00 a.m. and be finished by 1:00 p.m. Food service experience is not necessary. Additionally, we are in the process of setting up some donated computers for a computer lab that may help people with resume preparation and job training. We also need someone with a truck or large van who is willing to pick up donations from both Hannafords in Kingston on Wednesday mornings. More info or call 331-7188.

seeks Food Pantry Volunteer. The Food Pantry is constantly receiving donations that must be sorted and placed for distribution. Volunteers organize the food items, keep order in public spaces, and assist clients with their needs. More info or call 340-9170.

Good Neighbor Food Pantry
The Good Neighbor Food Pantry is open every Thursday morning from 9-noon in Woodstock. We are in the expansion stage to add another shift on Wednesday evenings from 4-7. We need volunteers for both Thursday morning and evening shifts. Drivers with pickups, suv’s, etc. are needed on the third Monday of every month to deliver food from Hannaford’s on Washington St. to the Woodstock Reformed Church. This month, our delivery is at 10:00 am and we need people. We also need people to offload the food in Woodstock at the Woodstock Reformed Church. Happy to Help Food Pantry
located in the basement of St. James Church at the corner of Fair and Pearl St., Kingston, NY seeks volunteers ages 12 and older. Several opportunities exist of varying time commitments: 2.5 hours per month assisting with food deliveries, Saturdays 1:30 -4:00 pick up at the farmers market, Sunday morning to set up pantry, Sunday afternoons to assist while the pantry is open. For youth volunteers, a parent or adult from the school should accompany the students. Helping Hands of NY Food Pantry
Helping Hands of NY Food Pantry needs volunteers in Phoenicia for food distribution every 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. We put out about 8 thousands lbs of food on table in the firehouse. At 11am we all meet at the firehouse and unload the trucks that come in. We also need help at 6pm to brake down and return anything back into the storage and refrigeration unit that is left over. 688-9825 or more info.

People’s Place
People’s Place gets a monthly food order of eight to ten thousand pounds of food from the Regional Foodbank in Latham. We need volunteers to help bring in the food to our food pantry and to store it in our freezers and refrigerators, as well as to put the dry goods on our shelves and pallets. It typically takes an hour of work to load handtrucks with food then unload the food into our food pantry starting at 9am. Volunteers also needed every weekday morning to help with food pantry. Pine Hill Area Community Supper and Food Giveaway
5:30 pm – 7:00 pm; Free
Occurs every 2 weeks on Mondays (see Calendar). All are welcome to the community meal; take home food if you need it, no questions asked. Potential volunteers can contact Eve or David Smith at 845-254-5304. Volunteers to help transport food from Kingston to Pine Hill especially needed. More info.
