The following year CCE established the Stone Ridge Center for the Arts (SRCA) as a community center, performance space, and administrative headquarters. Their new Kingston complex has a 1300 square foot dance studio, a percussion studio, homework and tutoring center, and a computer music lab that is being developed in collaboration with the Kingston School District’s Department of Fine Arts and Enrichment. The Klyne Museum is a National Historical Landmark, housed in the former Klyne Esopus Reformed Dutch Church. It’s unique architectural style from 1827 and community presence since 1792 make this site an important piece of history within the Hudson Valley. Thanks to 17 years of hard work, the passionate members of the Klyne Esopus Historic Preservation Committee saved this important historical site from demolition, made repairs to the building and preserved and collected artifacts. The museum finally opened to the public in 1986. We’re looking for committed volunteers with an interest in history to help to support our Museum’s opening hours on Saturdays & Sundays this summer! We are also looking for a volunteer interested in committing to an ongoing schedule to help with museum communications and outreach. More details. Woodstock Artists Association & Museum
WAAM has always been a member-based organization, and that’s why it has been successful and lasted for 100 years.
Over the years, members have stepped up as volunteers to help fill the gaps between what the staff has time to do, and what needs to get done. Our current volunteers are a great team of dedicated members, who have fun at WAAM, get to know what happens behind the scenes, and really make a difference.
Now, in an effort to keep costs under control but increase programming, we need more volunteers to help us with a lot of important tasks.
Being a member of WAAM is unlike most arts organizations. WAAM provides its members with the opportunity to show, and sell their work. WAAM is there when members get into financial difficulty, and most of all, WAAM is your advocate for the continuation of the arts in our culture. And right now, that’s a big task.
So, please put aside some time to add your skills and knowledge to the WAAM team. Tell us about your skills and background and choose from a list of volunteer positions we need filled.
As a volunteer, you ensure WAAM’s future. Please donate a little of your time to our cause.
