The Caring Hands Soup Kitchen at the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church
located at 122 Clinton Avenue in Mid-Town Kingston is looking for volunteers.
Since the the late 1980’s our church has been feeding hungry people in the community a
nutritious meal at noon. We serve Monday through Friday, and feed anyone who is in need. We also have a GED program, sponsored by BOCES, recovery meetings through Narcotics Anonymous, a free legal clinic and advocate services. All of these programs are a direct result of the soup kitchen and most meet right after lunch.
We are looking for volunteers to help prepare and serve the meals during the week.
Ideally, we are looking for teams of two people per day, with different teams to cover the
week. Teams would begin working at 10:00 a.m. and be finished by 1:00 p.m..
Food service experience is not necessary.
Additionally, we are in the process of setting up some donated computers for a
computer lab that may help people with resume preparation and job training.
Indeed, we are always open to new ideas that may help our very challenged computer.
We look forward to meeting you.
